Friday night I made a Pumpkin Spice cake and a Beef Stew with root vegetables.
We watched Stephen King's The Dark Half with Bryan.

Saturday night we went to Moss Bluff where Clay's coworker, Byron, had a huge caldron of Jambalaya and drove all the moms and kids on a hay ride through his neigborhood to trick-or-treat.

A good time all around.

P.S. I decided to keep the white cat.

Luna

Ah, yes, October. Time for a new journal entry since my birthday is way over now.
I love October. I wish it were cooler. Temp says it's 75'F, but it's so muggy and gros-feeling. And then there's THE RAIN. At this time of morning it's usually bright and sunny outside. It's very-very dark out right now. Looks like 5AM. If it were cooler it'd be perfect. Perfectly gray. Gray is one of my very favorite colors.
Speaking of gray...
Last week this little stray cat came up and stayed under our carport. She is so cute. Sh'e white with grey feet and facial features. Her tail is gray and dark gray striped. Her eyes are blue. And she's just the sweetest little thing. She must be 6 months old. She's big for a kitten, but too small to be an adult. I thought seriously about keeping her. Sunday I brought her into the house. Mu usually mild-mannered and super-sweet black cat, Vera hates the nrew cat. She won't let her near her food dish. She won't let her near her litterbox. Very territorial. Plus my normally sweet and mild Vera is acting all neurotic and weird. She's got this strange nervous meow hnow and usually she's quiet as a mouse. So, I'm gonna have to take the new little kitty down to the Hobo Hotel for Cats so she can be adopted by a family without a cat or with a cat who doesn't mind. And I started calling her "Luna", too. So sad.I told my sons we have to give Luna up for adoption and they were so sweet and understanding. They also saw how weird Vera has become in the last two days with the new cat in the house. I am sad to have to let her go, but she'll make someone a really great pet.

Sorry for all the typos. My arm hurts.

Edit, 12:30PM
I just can't decide. In fact, I think Luna would make us a very good little pet. Potentially she and Vera cat can get along and be good friends. Perhaps an adjustment period is what it takes. I looked all over for a no kill shelter for Luna, but they are all full. The Humane Society said I could drop her off there, but they can make no guarantee she'l be adopted in time before euthanasia.

It's my birthday.
I am 35 years old today.
I have had a great day.
Clay took the day off to be with me.
He got up early this morning and made fresh biscuits.
Those were some good biscuits!
He brought the boys to school and they both hugged me tight and gave me a kiss.
We did some mundane shopping for stuff on my grocery list.
I got some awesome bath soap and perfume.
It's called Love Spell and has cherry blossom, peach, and white jasmine.
Clay took me out to eat at Miyako's for sushi.
We had Japanese beer with Super Tiger Eye Roll, the Posieden Roll and the Yellowtail Box.
I also had some potent green tea and seaweed salad. I love seaweed.
It's just been a good day.
Paige called early this morning and sang 'Happy Birthday' really loud in my ear.
She's awesome. I dig it.
David called and left a nice message on the answering machine.
Kathy called me on a quick break between patients.
I talked to my mom on the phone for like and hour last night.
This evening David, Dale, Clay, and I are going to the Outback Restaurant for supper.
Gonna get me a Foster's and some coconut shrimp!

School is here!
